Disappointed by the silence of the Social Democratic Party leadership, Jura Soyfer joined the Communist underground movement after the February 1934 fighting. His unfinished novel “So starb eine Partei” is a key document of the courageous decision to actively participate in the political resistance against (Austro-)Fascism.
Jura Soyfer wrote the famous “Dachau Song”. It was to be his last act of resistance; his brave, young life was taken from him in the Buchenwald concentration camp.
